No consensus was reached in Rawalpindi Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) over division of resources, assets and employees between the splinter Rawal and Potohar towns. All the development projects initiated by the previous Tehsil government have come to a standstill.

A meeting held between the high-ups of the two towns of the Rawalpindi for distribution of over Rs 1 billion assets of the former Tehsil Municipal Administration, but the meeting ended without evolving any consensus. It also failed to reach the distribution of the employees so far.

Sources in the TMA told Business Recorder that DCO Hamid Ali Khan summoned a meeting of the high-ups to distribute the assets, resources and employees of the municipality, but it could not yield any positive result.

The delay in the distribution of assets, resources and employees of the two towns has created panic among the newly elected Nazims who are looking towards the Town Nazims to initiate development schemes in the respective constituencies. The non-settlement of the asset issue between the two towns has also put the ongoing projects in doldrums.
